By the way, you'll be seeing some interesting Mayor Gridlock banners flying in West Seattle in the very near future. Monorail or not, it is our duty to keep the public well informed of Mayor Gridlock's plans for our city, after all, he will be the one ultimately responsible for Seattle future transit problems. Let's also not forget his famous quote when the monorail failed this past November, "I cannot wait to see that the taypayers no longer have to pay the monorail taxes." This isn't about gaining support for the monorail and it certainly isn't about Al Runte. The Stranger wrote some articles as a post-mortem and we're happy to help the Mayor realize the legacy he's leaving the city. We vote to set direction. We look to our leaders to finish the job. It's as simple as that. If anything, it will get people talking about what exactly is plan b to get our city moving and why the mayor doesn't seem to have a plan b now that plan a is dead. This isn't based on name-calling. It's based on obvious hypocrisy. For the record, 2045 Seattle never endorsed nor spoke to Al Runte. We sent them an email a long time ago to find out what their platform was and they never replied. As for effective ways to expend our energy, we've been doing plenty of that in the past few months (check out the archives to see some of the things we've accomplished) and there will be plenty more in the future as we figure out what the group is doing next. We want to build Seattle into something we'll all be proud of and change the culture of inaction that seems to have a grip on our city and we'll do it one issue at a time. We know we've lost our first battle (the monorail) but we're looking forward to seeing what we can do next. John,

I feel like any support (for the monorail? for Al Runte?) that you will garner from this will be vastly overshadowed by the loss in credibility that comes from mounting a campaign based entirely on name-calling.
