March Saturday at 11 am for the Monorail!
Saturday, starting at 11 am, we will be joining an array of monorail supporters to walk the monorail route and show our support.
There are two places to start. Pick the one closest to you.
- Interbay: Parking lot immediately north of Q Cafe corner of Dravus and southbound exit ramp off 15th Ave. NW.
- West Seattle: Southwest corner of Alaska and California at Alaska Junction
Both groups will march to and meet at the “sinking ship” parking lot at James and Yesler in Pioneer Square.
Bring signs, banners and anything else you can think of to show your support. (Some bottled water isn’t a bad idea either) 2045 will be bringing our fancy new brochures for anyone who wants them.
Here are some of the groups that will be there:
- The 36th District Democrats
- The 34th District Democrats
- Kevin Fullerton, Sierra Club
- Scot Brannon, Sierra Club
- Cleve Stockmeyer, SMP Board member
- Peter Sherwin, Transit Over Roads
- Christian Gloddy, 2045 Seattle
- Cary Moon, People’s Waterfront Coalition
- Michael Taylor-Judd, Friends of the Monorail
Here’s hoping the weather treats us well.

Will be there. All I can say is, thanks SO much for what 2045 is doing. Really inspiring no matter what happens.

Well, it’s gonna rain, but here’s also hoping that the monorail supporters-proponents won’t let a few drops dissuade them. The more we show, the more the message gets amplified. The more “noise” we generate, the more closet supporters will feel free to vote yes.

I don’t really know how best to do this but, we need to keep our message simple and that is It is not 11billion it is 4, it is not 50 years it is 35 and the past boondogal is fixed. As far as I can tell this is the only real reason that peolpe have turned sour on the monorail. Ok that’s my $.02. See you there.

[...] We staged a race between a dog, a runner, a car and the monorail. We joined with other groups to march the length of the green line. We marched around in wetsuits to remind people that West Seattle shouldn’t have to swim to get downtown. [...]
