Monorail Race on Sunday
Anyone have a starter pistol?
On Sunday at 3:30 pm, we will be having a race between the existing 1962 monorail, a car, a bike and a dog. It’ll be 2045’s first short video. We’re going to have our own cameras there filming it and then we’ll cut together a video of the race for release on the internet.
Here are the contestants.
Car: Mike
Monorail: Molly
Biker: Chase
Dog: Wesley
If you’d like to come in and pitch in with the effort, let us know. We need a couple of refs to make sure there’s no cheating as well as people with cameras to capture footage of the race. We’ll be gathering at 3:30 pm in the food court area of the Center House in Seattle Center. The whole thing should only take about an hour and then we’ll leave it to Stephen to cut together the official footage.
And please people, no wagering. This is for entertainment purposes only.

I’d like to see a monorail and light rail race similar to that; ought to be interesting. (we know who’d lose, of course) =)

how did this one go?

Not well. One of our racers showed up late and then had to bail, so we were left rushing it together with limited light left in the day. it left us with enough usable footage to cut a trailer, but not the short feature we were hoping for. We’re not sure what to do with it at this point, so it fell by the side with everything else we’ve been working on.

[...] We staged a race between a dog, a runner, a car and the monorail. We joined with other groups to march the length of the green line. We marched around in wetsuits to remind people that West Seattle shouldn’t have to swim to get downtown. [...]
